PRESS RELEASEFB12 Vagabond Fixed-Blade By Spyderco®

The Spyderco Vagabond is designed for the wanderer. If you backpack, camp, picnic or throw tailgate parties, chances are you’ve at some point needed a lightweight fixed-blade knife. The strong point of a fixed-blade is that it’s manufactured from a single piece of steel with no folding parts to fail or break — ideal for use outdoors. A fixed-blade’s weak point is it requires a separate carry sheath for safe transport. Unique to the Vagabond is its plastic blade cover, which is actually part of the underside of the handle. The cover pivots out/upward, snapping-over and safely covering the sharpened edge eliminating the need for a bulky carry sheath. Sized to toss in a backpack or picnic basket, the FB12 is 7-7/8 (200mm) inches long. Its PlainEdged 3-1/8 inch (79mm) blade is AUS-6 stainless, hollow-ground on both sides for powerful performance cutting. Made of fiberglass reinforced nylon (FRN) the injection molded handle is covered with slip-free Bi-Directional Texturing® which latches onto the palm keeping slippery, cold or wet hands in contact and in control. String a cord or thong through the lanyard hole for security around water, while moving through deep brush or for attachment to a pack or duffle. Overall weight is 2.8 oz (79g).
